License Renewal Year

On November 8, the Veterinary Examining Board sent license renewal notices to veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Your license renewal is due by December 31, 2019. Learn more about how to renew your license?.?


Online applications are now available for Veterinary Medicine category 1, 2, or 3 and for Veterinary Technicians category 1, 2, or 3. You may apply onlin?e at https://mywww.sdhongtaikj.com, choose Licenses, Veterinary Examining Board, choose the credential that applies to you, and click Start New Application. Complete all information and pay at the end. The Veterinary Examining Board will email you with more information once your request is received and reviewed.

Note: If you pay with a credit card or automated clearing house (ACH), this payment can be applied right away.

New License Numbers

All veterinary licenses and veterinary certificates will have new numbers due to the change in state departments, which also brought a change in the software system. Either number can be used/referenced until the next renewal in December 2017.

The following lists allow you to find credentials for current and previous license holders:

DATCP updates the current license holder lists daily. If you submitted a renewal and do not see your name, your renewal is still processing.

About the Veterinary Examining Board

The Veterinary Examining Board defines professional standards and regulatory policies for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The board determines the education and experience required for obtaining a credential, develops and evaluates credentialing examinations, and establishes and enforces standards of professional conduct.

The members of the Veterinary Examining Board are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve four-year terms. The board consists of five licensed veterinarians, one veterinarian technician, and two public members.

2015 Wisconsin Act 55 transferred the administration of the? Veterinary Examining Board to DATCP.
